Tv is not what it’s cracked up to be.

Have you noticed the increase in tv shows and movies about fantasy and magic? When I was 18 (oh so many years ago) I was interested in that stuff. There wasn’t too many shows about witches or vampires. I mean I know Charmed was a witch show that I enjoyed and I loved Buffy the vampire slayer (show not movie). But there wasn’t much else to feed my curiosity. Nowadays all you have to do is switch on the tv and BOOM- dark magic city. They rebooted charmed with a more ethnic group of sisters, they had show after show of vampires, movies like Twilight, Demon fighting shows like Supernatural where the devil is kinda a nice guy, the tv show Lucifer. It’s all over. Now don’t get me wrong. I don’t watch tv. When I was growing up and was far from saved I would drool over all the paranormal I could. Now I’ve gone to spend time at my neighbors’ apt and they’ve had tv on. Or if I go to my parents’s house they have it on and I might see something now and then (I love Hallmark channel) but my lust for evil programming has me shun most of tv. I’ve learned thru my walk with Christ what is right and wrong and what is pleasing to Him.

“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭101:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So the reason for this long post is that I implore you, if you are letting yourself get hooked into the devil’s programming, get on your knees and pray! You need healing, you need salvation, you need to be set free!!!!! Praise God for his Word.

  1. Oh I so agree with you Bridget. I’m not sure how old you are but back when I was a kid ( 60s) most TV shows were safe to watch with your whole family. Shows like The Rifleman, Julia, I Love Lucy, Bonanza, The Mod Squad, and even the very old soap operas were safe back then.
We don’t have regular TV but we have streaming services and honestly I’m shocked by what is allowed on TV now. I would be happy to be rid of TV but now you don’t have to have a TV to watch the filth that’s on. TV shows are available at the click of a mouse or just download on your phone or tablet.

  2. I’m 37. Lol. You are so right about devices. Smart phones like I have make it easy to find bad stuff. But they have software that sends parents alerts when certain keywords are typed or
    types of websites accessed.
